Re: OT: Modern Chinese Coin or Medal ID Help

Thanks adan44.

Here is a response I got on a very interesting site on Chinese Coins . I like the stats on viewers and responses as well - nice format http://china-mint.info/forum/index.php

Theme: Chinese Ancient Pagoda Pure silver content: 18 grams Fineness: 90% Diameter: 36 mm Quality: Proof Mintage: Unknown

I believe it is part of a 4 medals set. The 1058 medal is a picture of the Shi Jia Pagoda built in the second year of QingNing Reign (1056 A.D.) of the Liao Dynasty. 523: Pagoda of Songyue Temple built in 520 A.D. 1001: Pagoda of Kai Yuan Temple built in 1055 A.D. 1473: Pagoda of Zhenjiao Temple built in 1473 A.D.
