1905 5c 5/3 ??
As most of you know who have studied the 5c silver series, there are numerous repunched examples of the 5 for the year 1905. Many of these are dramatic, and offer a challenge to collectors.
The attached close-up is of a recent find, which has me scratching my head. In many ways, this looks like it could be a 5 over 3, though I have never heard of such a find.
I apologize in advance for the relatively poor condition of the harshly cleaned example. I would typically ignore such a piece, were it not for the strangeness of the 5.
Any and all comments appreciated.
