Re: 1900 silver 5 cent 9 over 9

Mike. I don't see a 9/9. You do an interesting variety of the 1900 however. The reference books typically state there are oval and round 00s. My observations are there are three basic classes of 1900.

1: Oval 00

2: Wide 00

3: Round OO

There are variations in each of these. Yours for example is a Round OO, with oval inner circles.

This is a great year to try to find examples of all the varieties. The more you find, the more you will notice differences. I have seen some well respected grading services label the Wide 00, as both Oval and Round.
