YQQ, Robs first 2 books are end use or working die books. You should have absolutely no difficulty collecting 1858 and 1859/8's.

His third book is not at the working die level, except for the example 1891 catalog. As such you need to think up 1 level in the ladder to the punch and then 2 levels up to the matrix. From there you are free to discover an outstanding bouquet of working die varieties. What a rich environment to research!!!!
