Diamond Jubilee $20 coin
Even though 2012 is still more then half a year away, the RCM has a $20 fine silver coin for Her Majesty's Diamond Jubilee in 2012. It's right here:

It's a nice coin (I bought it) but isn't this a bit early yet? Frankly what happens if she dies in the next year? I respect her and certainly don't wish her any ill will but she is 85 you know.
Why do I think the RCM was rushing to get the first such coin out among the various worldwide mints? There's more coming too. The RCM said so. Some of the non-Canadian stuff is pretty predictable. I bet the Perth Mint will have a 1 oz silver coloured portrait coin issued for Australia. The Royal Australian Mint will probably do a 50c coin. Then there will be the plethora of coins by various mints issued for minor countries, territories, islands, uninhabited atolls, etc. Many of these places don't even issue real money. Anyway I guess the RCM wanted to be #1.
