Current Dealer Buy Price for Pre-1966 Canadian Decimal Silver Coins
For your information:
I just got off the telephone with a very reputable, professional Canadian coin dealer. He was kind enough to share with me and the members of The Canadian Coin Reference Site the current dealer standard buy price for Canadian decimal silver coins quoted at today's silver value of $35/ounce.
The silver content buy price* for pre-1966 Canadian decimal coinage is 17 X face value at today's current silver value of $35/ounce.
So here is the breakdown:
- $1.00 X $17 = $17.00
- .50 X $17 = $8.50
- .25 X $17 = $4.25
- .10 X $17 = $1.70
He also mentioned that gold is valued today at $1,497CDN/ounce.
Knowledge is vital.
* Note: This refers to silver value only and doesn't take into account possible key dates, condition rarities etc... (eg: 1948 CDN Silver dollars) which have a premium numismatic value. Please refer to CCN Trends or The Charlton Standard Catalogue of Canadian Coins.
