I agree, the 2010 Charlton pictures certainly leave something to be desired for this year. However, if you look at the pointed over the blunt 7 (page 275), you should be able to get an idea of what the two should look like.
There are many minor Victorian differences. I would need to go through my 1872s to see if Charlton just got the pictures messed up. It might have happened. Of course if you are looking at AU/MS examples, they should be easier to determine than more worn pieces.
