Re: Very Special Lady...Ingrid Smith
I was saddened to hear of the passing of Ingrid. I first met her at Toronto Coin Club shows with my father in the 1960's. Some of my fondest memories of this business are from the time period of the 1970's and 1980's, and Ingrid was an integral part of the coin business in Canada at the time. However, her reach was worldwide, with her work at the Bundesbank in Germany, ANACS in Colorado Springs, Kagin's in Iowa and the U.S. coin shows she did. Ingrid Smith, Bob Shillingworth, Bill Cross, Bob Byers, Eric Miller and my father, Peter, were all contemporaries, and the wealth of knowledge that was shared then was the foundation of my entry into the coin business full time. I will miss her. My heart goes out to her husband Dick and her children, Christina and Brian. My sincere condolences to the family. All the best during these hard times. Michael Findlay
