2011 Wood Bison 25 cent piece

I received one of these in change yesterday and looked it up in the RCM site to get more info on them as something seemed a bit odd.

It said they're being released on Jan.16/2012 for general circulation in both a regular and coloured version with a planned total of 12.5 million divided equally between each version.

After looking at the official images I realised what was odd. The coin I have doesn't have the mint mark below the Queen's portrait or anywhere else in fact, while the Mint's picture shows it in it's customary location.

Could this then be considered a legitimate error? Has anyone else got one yet and found the same thing?
