Appraising Grandfather's Collection
So the story is that my grandparents have been forced to move into a retirement home due to health reasons rather suddenly. As the only relative in proximity to their old house, it has fallen on me to deal with it.
As I was cleaning out my grandfather's office I came across a coin collection that first appeared minor. Now that I have more extensive time I have found this to be simply amazing. I don't know much about the coins - but from a brief search on the 'net I have realized it is worth quite a bit.
In Short: I'm looking for advice on this situation.
In Long:I want to present my grandfather with an inventory list and values. I know he's only getting by on his military pension (WWII vet) and I think knowing that he does have a solid investment to rely on as things get worse would help him a lot...and make sure that family politics is nubbed in the butt before things get stupid.
Please comment and give your advice.
