You should purchase a Charlton Catalogue of Canadian coins for values by year. Basic rule of thumb --- 99% of 10 cent, 25 cent and 50 cent coins back to 1937 will be worth silver content only, unless they are absolute mint state. Circulated silver dollars back to 1957 and 1953 are usually worth silver value ... others back to 1935 will vary by date and condition.
