1875-H Five Cent Silver - Look at the size of that 5!

I recently purchased an 1875-H Small Date Five Cents with an unusual characteristic. Note that the 5 in the date is much larger than all of the other numbers, yet it has the same shape as the top of the Small Date's 5.

To me it almost seems that the 5 is the size of the 5 on the Ten Cents denomination. Any speculation on this?
