I've been a coin collector for most of my life, started as a child in the early 70's after I picked up a Charleton book someone had thrown out. After chasing after almost every denomination, I decided to focus on the mintstate Canadian 5 cents in nickel. I enjoy these because it's arguably the most extreme series in Canadian numismatics as far as being common and rare depending on grade, varied in composition and design for standard business strikes and, for me at least, the most challenging to grade. I do not consider myself an expert in the series, but more of a student, so please be patient if my questions and comments sometimes seem obvious or wrong.
