Vancouver Numismatic Society Coin Show Public and Mailbid Auction


The Vancouver Numismatic Society 2002 Coin Show Auction will be held on Saturday April 20, 2002, at 12:30pm, in the Oakridge Shopping Center Seniors Auditorium in central Vancouver. The 651 lot Canada, U.S., and World, coin, banknote, token, and medal offering has been thoroughly catalogued by David Hamilton of All Nations Coin and Stamp.

Highlights of the 40-page catalogue include the Prince of Canadian Coins, a Fine 1921 Silver Five Cents, an About Uncirculated 1948 Canada Silver Dollar, a Prooflike 1966 Small Beads Variety Canada Silver Dollar, a 2000 Royal Canadian Mint Medallion Mule, denominated Twenty Five Cents, a Very Fine 1912 Dominion of Canada Five Dollar Train banknote, a Very Good 1935 Banque Du Canada French $25 note, a pair of 1917 Black Bank of Nova Scotia $10 Proofs, Specimen and low number banknotes from the Bank of Canada Archives, and an Uncirculated 1827 U.S.A. Silver Fifty Cents.

There are over a hundred lots of World coins, including scarce pieces from Great Britain, Korea, Straits Settlements, and Switzerland. Hong Kong features prominently in the international banknote lots, highlighted by AU 1973 Mercantile Bank HKD100 and Chartered Bank HKD500 notes. Collection lots are also offered.
