The June Torex® Auction in Toronto will consist of 1448 lots with an estimated value in excess of one-and-a-half million dollars, and it will be conducted in two sessions, on Friday and Saturday, the 24th and 25th of June. The First Session starts with more than 100 lots of Paper Money, nearly half of which are Replacement Notes, Specimens and Special Serial Numbers. There are 90 lots of World Crowns and Minors, more than 60 lots of World and Canadian Gold, and 100 lots of Tokens and Medals. Among the Specimen Sets are a 1908, a 1946 and a 1970 VIP, all with original cases. There are Error Coins and Bulk Lots, and the First Session concludes with 190 lots of New Brunswick, Newfoundland and other Maritime Decimals, including many highest graded and potential finest known pieces. The Second Session is dedicated to Canadian Decimal Coins. There are over nearly 300 lots of Canadian Large and Small Cents ranging from certified Red Gems to group lots. Among the 99 lots of Five Cents pieces is a very attractive 1921. The 93 lots of Ten Cents pieces include many choice certified Victorian, Edwardian and George V pieces. The 121 lots of Twenty and Twenty Five Cents pieces include 42 lots of Victorian pieces with some lower grade groups, many nice VF, EF and AU pieces and nine examples in MS-64 and MS-65. The 99 lots of Fifty Cents pieces include eight mintstate Victorian examples and nine mintstate George V in grades up to ICCS MS-67, and there is a rare 2002P. The sale concludes with 139 lots of Silver Dollars, including five mintstate examples of the 1948 and a very rare 1982 Thin Planchet.
